US President Donald Trump said he is considering cancelling a series of concerts planned to mark the 250th anniversary of the US after several performers withdrew from the events.
The latest withdrawal came from Bret Michaels, lead singer of Poison, who became the fifth musician to pull out of the Freedom 250 celebrations scheduled to take place in Washington from June 25 to July 10.
Writing on Truth Social, Trump said he may replace the concerts with a speech and public rally. He also described himself as “the most compelling figure in the world” and claimed he attracts larger crowds than Elvis Presley did at the height of his fame.
The Freedom 250 events are part of nationwide celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of US independence.
