U.S. President Donald Trump described the negotiations for a ceasefire in Gaza and a prisoner exchange agreement as "highly complex," expressing hope for a successful resolution.
During a press conference, when asked whether he was optimistic about the release of more hostages, Trump stated: "I hope things go well. We are deeply engaged in the negotiations concerning the hostages and Israel, and we have to see what happens. It is a very complex situation."
He further remarked, "There is immense hatred here at levels no one has seen before," referring to the deep-rooted Israeli-Palestinian conflict and its repercussions in the United States, particularly amid rising tensions following the U.S. authorities' crackdown on protests at Columbia University.
