US President Donald Trump has appointed former attorney general Pam Bondi to a high-level White House advisory council focused on artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, according to a report by Axios.
Bondi, who left the Justice Department last month, will join the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, one of Washington’s most influential technology policy bodies linking government officials with top Silicon Valley executives.
The council is chaired by former White House AI adviser David Sacks and science adviser Michael Kratsios. Its members include some of the biggest names in the tech industry, including Jensen Huang of NVIDIA, Mark Zuckerberg of Meta, and Larry Ellison of Oracle.
According to Axios, Bondi is expected to help coordinate cooperation between the federal government and major technology companies as the Trump administration expands its focus on AI regulation, innovation, and national infrastructure.
US Vice President JD Vance described Bondi as “a valuable addition” to the administration, praising her continued involvement in addressing key policy challenges.
The report also said Bondi recently underwent treatment for thyroid cancer following her departure from the Justice Department and is currently recovering.
