U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that federal authorities have arrested and deported approximately 12,000 undocumented migrants from the state of Minnesota. The mass enforcement action has sparked widespread protests and violent clashes in Minneapolis, further deepening the rift between the White House and state leadership.

Speaking on the operations, Trump insisted that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is merely "enforcing the law" and warned local officials against interference. "The Governor of Minnesota must let immigration authorities do their job," Trump said. He added that the current unrest in the state is an attempt by local leaders to "cover up theft and fraud."

Civil Unrest in Minneapolis The city of Minneapolis has become a flashpoint for civil disobedience following the death of an individual during a federal enforcement action. Protesters have taken to the streets, leading to intense clashes with security forces. Trump addressed the incident directly, claiming that the individual killed was "armed" and accusing both the Governor and the Mayor of Minneapolis of "inciting insurrection" by supporting the protests.

Federal vs. State Authority The mass arrests are part of a broader federal push to bypass "sanctuary" policies in Democratic-led states. Trump emphasized that federal authorities remain committed to ensuring "legal security" and protecting citizens, even under the "difficult circumstances" currently plaguing Minneapolis.

While state officials have condemned the aggressive tactics of federal agents, the Trump administration maintains that these measures are necessary to restore order and address what they describe as a breakdown of law in the region.
