Egypt, Algeria, and Tunisia concluded their ministerial meeting of the Tripartite Consultation Mechanism with a joint statement stressing that Libya’s political solution must be Libyan-led, inclusive, and aimed at establishing a unified state with stable institutions.

The final statement described the meeting as the culmination of ongoing consultations among the three countries aimed at supporting political stability in Libya.

It underscored the principle of exclusive Libyan ownership of the political process as a non-negotiable foundation, stressing that any solution must be Libyan-led and Libyan-driven. The statement also emphasized the importance of inclusive participation by all Libyan parties and leaders, without exclusion, to ensure a sustainable political settlement.

The ministers highlighted the necessity of establishing a unified Libyan state with stable institutions capable of delivering security and stability. Such stability, the statement noted, is essential to advancing development and moving the political process forward.

The statement further affirmed that Libya’s security and stability are inseparable from broader Arab security and the security of the Sahel and Sahara region in Africa, underscoring the regional implications of the Libyan crisis.

The Tripartite Consultation Mechanism continues to serve as a platform for coordination among Egypt, Algeria, and Tunisia as they seek to support a comprehensive political solution that preserves Libya’s unity and sovereignty.
