Trade Min. Discusses Preparations for 3rd Edition of Nebu Expo for Gold & Jewellery

Egypt's Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali Al-Moselhi recently headed an extended meeting to prepare for the upcoming third session of the International Nebu Expo for Gold & Jewellery 2023.

The exhibition will run from November 26 to 28 and will be attended by Ahmed Suleiman, Head of the Stamp and Weights Department; Ahmed Al-Wakeel, President of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce; Eng. Hani Milad, Head of the General Division for Gold and Jewelry at the Federation of Chambers of Commerce; Eng. Lotfi Al-Monib, Secretary-General of the Division; Kamal Jaber, Director of Customs at the Exhibition and Convention Center, and Dr. Alaa Ezz, Secretary-General of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce.

In his remarks, Al-Moselhi affirmed the government's keenness to support the Egyptian jewelry industry and enhance its partnership with the Gold Division to regulate gold prices in local markets. "The government is also providing necessary support to develop the exports of gold jewelry to global markets," he noted.

The upcoming Nebio exhibition will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, the Stamp and Weights Authority, the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce, and the General Division for Gold and Jewelry at the Federation of Chambers of Commerce.

Milad, Head of the General Division for Gold and Jewelry, revealed that the exhibition will be held on 7,500 square meters of area at the Manara Exhibition Grounds. It will feature pavilions for local and international manufacturers, including a special pavilion to display the products of small and medium workshops.

According to Milad, the exhibition will also support these workshops by lowering participation prices and allowing their products to be displayed in the markets.

The exhibition provides an opportunity to learn about the latest manufacturing methods to improve the productivity of these workshops and maximize their production and profitability opportunities.

This year, the exhibition will allocate a special pavilion for Egyptian designers to showcase their designs to both international and local manufacturers.

In turn, Al-Monib mentioned that this year's exhibition will witness the participation of 75 local companies from major Egyptian jewelry producers and 35 international companies from Italy, India, the United Arab Emirates, and Turkey.

Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of the Gold Division, noted that the visitor data from the previous Nebio Exbo showed 7,000 local visitors, 85% of whom visited the exhibition for direct purchase.

He said that about 10% of the visitors came to explore the precious products and their quality, while 5% explored the opportunities available in the production and trade of gold jewelry.
