Egypt's Ambassador to the Serbian capital Belgrade, Amr Aljowaly, opened on Sunday the Egyptian Days events at the Town Museum of Sombor.
The opening ceremony attended by a number of high Serbian officials.
Called "The Whispers of the Nile Valley," the events will last for two weeks and it will include an impressive representation of the Egyptian culture. It will also observe the progression of arts from murals to screens as Ambassador Aljowaly underscored in his speech.
He added that the events will contain a photo exhibition of Jewelry, Islamic Arts, and Calligraphy. Also, a number of lectures about Egyptian Literature, Arts, Egyptology will be held.
Furthermore, the events will have various film screenings and folk music and dance performances.
The Mayor of Sombor described the beauty and the richness of the Egyptian culture; he indicated the importance of those cultural events to boost Egyptian culture.
In addition, the idea of organizing these events came after exhibiting 22 artifacts in the first exhibition of Egyptian antiquities almost ago a year.
He also praised the Egyptian cultural efforts and cooperation with the Serbian authorities.
