Soha Bahgat, the Tourism and Antiquities Ministry's spokesman, said that the ministry has taken many precautionary measures to protect the tourism sector staff against the coronavirus by sterilizing the hotels and tourist facilities.
"Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khaled el Anany urged all the tourist facilities not to lay any worker off because of the virus," Bahgat affirmed in statements to Nile News channel.
The ministry held meetings with the Egyptian Tourism Federation, the Egyptian Hotel Association (EHA), and the Egyptian Federation of Tourism Chambers and trained the sector's staff online.
"It agreed with the Health Ministry on sterilizing all the tourist facilities," she noted, pointing a well-done plan had been developed to receive tourists in the coming period.
"No coronavirus cases had been recorded among the citizens in Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh cities," she underlined.
Meanwhile, EHA started today in sterilizing the hotels and tourist facilities in Makadi Bay in Red Sea governorate.

Hossam El Shaer, the chairman of the Egyptian Travel Agents Association (ETTA), said that the sterilization process is being conducted under the supervision of the Health Ministry.
