In a significant stride towards bolstering bilateral cooperation in the fields of tourism and archaeology, today saw Ahmed Issa, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, engage in a video conference meeting with Indian Ambassador to Egypt Ajit Gupte.

Opening the dialogue, Issa extended a warm welcome to Gupte, emphasizing the robust ties between Egypt and India, particularly in the domains of tourism and antiquities.

Gupte, in turn, highlighted the Indian tourist's profound interest in Egypt's rich heritage and civilization.

He underscored their enthusiasm for cultural tourism, noting the recent commencement of direct flights between Cairo and the Indian capital, New Delhi. Additionally, there are direct flights connecting Cairo to Mumbai.

The meeting delved into strategies for enhancing inbound tourism from India to Egypt. It was noted that the Indian Embassy in Egypt is organizing an event at its premises this month to encourage bilateral tourism. This event marks the first in a series of initiatives slated for the near future.

Furthermore, a tourism caravan, or "Roadshow," is set to take place in India during the last quarter of this year. The Ministry, represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, will also participate in the Tourism Fair (OTM) scheduled for February in Mumbai, India.

The meeting also highlighted the promotional campaign launched by the Ministry in 18 targeted markets, including India.

The campaign features a promotional video under the slogan "Your Expectations are History." Additionally, a series of promotional films have been released in the Indian market, such as "200 Years of Science in the Making" and a short promotional film about the discovery of the tomb of King Tutankhamun, highlighting the global fame of the legendary king.

Egypt and India are embarking on a promising journey of cultural exchange and collaborative efforts, uniting their historical treasures to create unforgettable experiences for tourists from both nations.
