Egypt's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, convened an extensive meeting in Sharm El-Sheikh with a number of tourism investors from the governorate and and highlighted the significant investment potential it has for the tourism industry.
This gathering was attended by Dr. Khaled Mubarak, the Governor of South Sinai, and Hossam El-Shaer, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Federation of Tourism Chambers.
The meeting also included Mohamed Ayoub, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hotel Establishments Chamber, Tamer Makram, Chairman of the Association of Tourism Investors in South Sinai, Mohamed Amer, Head of the Central Administration for Hotel Establishments, Shops, and Tourism Activities at the Ministry, along with several members of the Hotel Establishments Chamber's Board of Directors.
The purpose of this meeting was to address various issues pertinent to the enhancement of the tourism sector in Egypt, with a specific focus on South Sinai. The discussions aimed to foster a more favorable business environment for tourism investment, while also providing a platform for investors to voice their challenges, opinions, and suggestions to facilitate tourism growth in the region. Additionally, the meeting explored strategies to encourage increased inbound tourism from targeted markets.
In his remarks, Fathy emphasized the significant importance that the political leadership in Egypt places on the tourism sector, viewing it as a vital contributor to the national economy.
"Efforts will be made to eliminate any barriers to advance the tourism industry and to provide essential support through various initiatives and incentives," said the Minister.
The Minister also highlighted the necessity of minimizing delays and expediting the completion of these projects in collaboration with the relevant authorities.
Furthermore, he noted that the Ministry is currently pursuing a clear strategy to enhance existing tourism products and services, as well as to develop and promote new offerings.
