Tourism Min. Receives Ambassador of Greece

Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Essa received Nikolaos Garilidis, Ambassador of Greece to Cairo, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries on the tourism and archaeological level.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister welcomed the ambassador, appreciating the depth of the historical, political and cultural relations between Egypt and Greece. 

During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance cooperation to push more tourist movement from Greece to Egypt, organize joint regional promotional campaigns in the Mediterranean basin, and launch joint tourism programs between the two countries to attract tourists who are keen to visit Egypt and Greece. 

Noteworthy, there are many cooperation agreements between Egypt and Greece in the field of tourism, including a memorandum of understanding that was signed in 2012, and a cooperation protocol that was signed in 2017, in addition to a tripartite agreement between Egypt, Greece and Cyprus that was signed in 2014. Two archaeological missions from Greece are working in Egypt.
