Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino said on Wednesday that he needs time to rebuild his side's squad harmony after the Spurs' worst start of the 2019-20 season resumed with their shock exit from the Carabao Cup.
They suffered a shocking exit from the Carabao Cup following their defeat from League Two Colchester United who won the game on penalties 4-3.
"We need time again to build that togetherness that you need when you are competing at this level," he said, according to BBC.
The Argentinian coach stressed that his side's unbalanced squad is the main reason behind Tottenham's poor and difficult start of the 2019-20 season.
"When you have an unsettled squad always it's difficult and you lose time, then you need time to recover the time you lose," the 47-year-old coach added.

He also stressed that this period is so difficult and all members of the club have to work hard to find a solution. "We are in a period where it's a bit tough for us, but we keep working to find a solution," Pochettino remarked.
He also said that the most important step to find a solution for this issue is to preserve your calm, as well as, you should stay cool.
"When this type of thing happens it's about staying clear and fresh and calm. We're trying to find solutions and we only need time," he noted.
Noteworthy, Tottenham, who reached the Champions League final last year, made one of their worst starts to their adventure in the Premier League.
They began the season with a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa in the opening the game, before holding a 2-2 draw with the defending champions Manchester City in the second round. They began their bad results on August,25 when they suffered a 1-0 from Newcastle United.
They lost one of the easiest three points in their recent north London against the Gunners when they capitulated their 2-0 lead as Arsenal fought back to hold a 2-2 draw with the Spurs.
They secured their second victory after four Premier League rounds against Crystal Palace after demolishing Palace with unanswered four goals.
The Uefa Champions League runner-up kicked off their campaign in the tournament with a 2-2 draw against Olympiacos, as they were picked in Group B, alongside Bayern Munich, Crvena Zvezda.
Once again, Tottenham surrendered a 1-0 advantage against Leicester City, the one-time Premier League champions fought back to defeat Spurs 2-1 in a dramatic game.
