Authorities in Texas said Monday that more than 100 homes were damaged after a tornado swept through a residential area outside Houston. No injuries were reported.
Photos and videos shared on Facebook by the Harris County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office showed torn-off rooftops and debris blocking several roads.
The worst-hit area was the Memorial Northwest neighborhood, according to Constable Mark Herman.
Rustin Rawlings, a spokesperson for the Houston Fire Department, said crews were deployed to cut and remove fallen trees throughout the affected area.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for southeast Texas, including the Houston metropolitan area, until 1 a.m. local time on Tuesday. A severe thunderstorm warning was also in effect for parts of the region.
