Saudi Minister of State for African Countries Affairs Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Qattan is currently visiting Sudan.

Qattan described his visit to Sudan as "one of the most successful visits he has made since taking office in 2018."

During his visit, the top Saudi official met with the Head of the Sudanese Sovereign Council, his deputy, the Prime Minister (PM), Foreign Minister (FM), as well as Finance Minister.

Qattan conveyed Saudi King Salman bin Abdaudiulaziz Al Saud and his Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's greetings and congratulated them on the formation of a new transitional government.

He said that his visit to Khartoum came in accordance with the Saudi King and Crown Prince's directives. It aims at consolidating relations between both countries.

The meeting tackled the importance of boosting economic relations between the two countries, especially investments and strategic projects related to oil and gas, noting that these projects need serious studies and mutual visits.

The Saudi minister emphasized that Sudan has giant agricultural projects that can contribute to covering the needs of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region.
