On Monday, the parliamentary elections kick off in Egypt.

I know that many feel the result is predetermined and participation is a mere formality, and that the National List means there is only one path to choose, or not choose. But I believe every single vote makes a difference.

Every act of participation creates space for accountability. The names on the National List are not unknown... rather, they are names with experience, expertise, and political history. On Monday, we will live a political moment in which we must participate.

This election is not just a selection of names... rather, it is a real and practical test for the idea of the "National List", considering it a political model and experiment and their impact must be measured after entering parliament, not before.

The National List now is not a single piece of paper... but a complete plan for how Parliament will be represented in the next session. We might agree with its form... we might disagree... we might see strengths or see points that need development... But the true judgment on it must come after it is implemented within Parliament and after we see its performance in the sessions and confrontations.

Will this experiment create a different parliament from previous sessions?

Will we see genuine interrogations of the government?

Will we see daily urgent statements touching people's lives, as we used to see years ago?

Will we see the return of politics in its true sense under the dome, and not just on social media?

These questions will not be answered by debate... they will be answered by the reality inside the hall. For this reason... participation is neither a luxury nor a formality. Participation is a duty and a responsibility.

Let us go down and participate... then, in the next session, we hold accountable, compare, and evaluate.
