The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts that today, Thursday, July 23, 2026, will mark the continuation of the heatwave's peak across most parts of the country.
Weather conditions will feature warm and humid early mornings, intensely hot and humid daytime conditions over most regions, and hot, humid conditions along parts of the northern coasts, transitioning to moderately warm and humid nights across most areas.
Dr. Mahmoud Shaheen, Director-General of the Weather Forecasting and Early Warning Center at the EMA, detailed the synoptic outlook and shade surface temperatures (both actual maximums and heat index/real-feel temperatures):
• Greater Cairo: High 40°C | Heat Index 42°C
• Lower Egypt (Nile Delta): High 39°C | Heat Index 41°C
• Northwestern Coast: High 33°C | Heat Index 36°C
• Northeastern Coast: High 35°C | Heat Index 39°C
• Northern Upper Egypt: High 41°C | Heat Index 43°C
• Southern Upper Egypt: High 43°C | Heat Index 44°C
