Today, May 18 marks the 7th death anniversary of late prominent Egyptian actor Hussein El-Imam.
El-Imam died of cardiac arrest in 2014, aged 63. He enjoyed a successful acting career after starring in his first film, 'ElSukria' in 1973, 22 aged.
His big breakthrough was in the 1970s when he performed a supporting role in “ElSukria,” the screen adaptation of one of the novels in a trilogy by Egyptian Nobel Prize laureate Naguib Mahfouz.
The multi-talented young man began his career playing music with his brother Moody El-Imam.
Throughout their artistic career, the two brothers released five albums together.
In the 1990s, El-Imam established his own musical studio. Later on, he composed a number of songs, particularly for king Mohamed Mounir.
The talented star was also the host of several popular talk shows, and entertainment programs like (Hassan ala al hawaa), (Hussein ala al hawaa), (Fasel w nwasel, Eh en nizam) and (Kalaam Hussein).
The veteran actor is the son of the late Hassan El-Imam, who is one of Egypt's most remarkable filmmakers, and was married to Egyptian actress Sahar Ramy.
His father El-Imam is well known for directing a series of films based on Naguib Mahfouz’s novels, including 'Bayn El-Qasren' (1962), 'Zokak El-Madaq' (1963), 'Kasr El-Shouq' (1966), and 'El-Sokareya' (1973).
In 1972, the prominent actor was married to Egypt’s beautiful actress Sahar and together they had two sons, Yossef and Salim.
Unfortunately, Hussein El-Imam, the renowned Egyptian actor and musician, passed away on May 17, 2015.
