It has been twenty-three years since the death of Mostafa Metwali, who graced Egyptian cinema. He passed away on August 5, 2000, as a result of a heart attack

Born in 1949, in Cairo, he graduated in 1973 from the Institute of Theatrical Art, where he studied acting.

After graduation, Metwali took part in a number of films, the most notable of which were Antar Shayl Sefo and Al Le'b M'a al Kobar, before participating in his most important play, El Wad Sayed El-Shaghal.

This play redrew the map of acting stars at the start of the 1980s.

His cinematic beginnings were modest, even slow, starring in Elosta El Modeer, Al Rakesa Wal Seyasy, Gzert Al Shaytan, and Shams El Zanaty.

However, the talented actor proved to be a star in the making.

Metwali spent several years playing dozens of minor roles before moving on to major ones.

He played a number of starring roles in Al Le'b M'a al Kobar, El Mansy, Al-Irhabi, Esh EL Ghorab, Bikhit and Adila 1, Bikhit and Adila 2, El Wad Sayed Chaghal (play) and El Zaeem (play).
