A first-class dinner menu from the ill-fated RMS Titanic, which sank in 1912, was sold for £84,000 (around $103,000) by the British auction house "Henry Aldridge and Son" on Sunday.

More than 1,500 passengers and crew members lost their lives when the ship, which had set sail from Southampton, England, bound for New York, struck an iceberg on the evening of April 14, 1912.

The menu, estimated to be worth between £50,000 and £70,000, featured dinner courses including oysters, minted lamb, and duck with currant sauce, and was dated April 11, just days before the ship's departure.

Andrew Aldridge of the auction house stated that despite extensive research conducted by Titanic enthusiasts, they are not aware of any other examples of a First-Class dinner menu for April 11th.

This precious document was discovered within a photo album dating back to the 1960s, following the passing of a historian named Lyn Stevenson from Nova Scotia, Canada.
