Tajikistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that three Chinese nationals were killed late on November 26, 2025, after a drone attack struck a workers’ camp near the Tajik-Afghan border. The incident took place within the control area of the 1st Border Guard Post “Istiqlol” of the “Yol” Border Detachment in the Khatlon region.

According to the official statement, the attack originated from Afghan territory and was carried out using an unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with grenades and automatic firearms. The drone targeted the camp of LLC Shohin SM, a company employing Chinese workers, leaving three of them dead at the scene.

Tajikistan noted that the assault occurred despite its ongoing efforts to maintain stability and security along the border. Authorities stressed that criminal groups operating inside Afghanistan continue to pose a persistent threat to the region.

The Foreign Ministry expressed deep concern and issued a strong condemnation of what it described as terrorist actions. It called on Afghanistan’s de facto authorities to take urgent and effective measures to enhance stability and prevent further cross-border attacks between the two neighboring countries.

The incident marks a significant escalation in the security risks facing both Tajik and foreign workers in border regions, as unmanned aerial attacks become an increasingly common tactic among militant and criminal networks operating from Afghan territory.
