On Wednesday, the Lebanese government announced that three people who arrived in the country from the UK are suspected to have the new strain of Covid-19, according to Sky News website.

The Minister of Health in the caretaker government, Hamad Hassan, said that detailed tests are being conducted to diagnose the nature of the virus's new strain.

Moreover, he added that "The municipalities must take all preventive measures and apply them to all arrivals from the United Kingdom, to ensure the safety of everyone."

Until now, Lebanon has not suspended flights from the UK, after being hit by the rapidly- spread new coronavirus strain.

lt is worth mentioning that, last Tuesday Oman revealed that four people who arrived in the sultanate from the UK are suspected to have the new strain of Covid-19.

State television quoted Health Minister Dr Ahmed Al Saeedi saying that tests on the four people who arrived from the UK “could be the new strain of the virus. The tests have not confirmed it, but is under investigation".
