Thousands protest against COVID-19 restrictions in Germany

Thousands have protested against the latest COVID-19 restrictions in various German cities on Saturday.

Several demonstrations saw clashes between protesters and police officers, leaving behind 12 injured police officers in Dresdern.

Three persons were arrested alongside a 36-year old person was taken into temporary custody accused of initiating violent acts against officers.

The demonstrators took the streets without applying any medical codes regarding COVID-19, especially in Berlin and Stuttgart.

The 750 demonstrators violated all measures as they appeared without wearing face masks or applying social distance.

On the other hand, many protesters attacked journalists and media members working for the Public TV channel SWR.

Police of Munich had to broke up a protest in the city as only 500 persons were allowed to participate in the demonstration, but the number of them was more than 2500.

According to the spokesperson of the Police of Munich, the demonstration was terminated by police because of non-compliance with conditions.

Imposed until the end of March, the restrictions against Coronavirus include renewing closing restaurants, bars, and all forms of entertainment venues.

Germany which sees a new rise of COVID-19 domestic infections, it is one of the earliest European countries which hit by a third wave of the virus.
