The Guardian reported that hundreds of thousands of travelers remain stranded as major air hubs in the Middle East close amid the fallout from the US-Israeli attack on Iran.
The newspaper added that the crisis has extended far beyond the Middle East, with passengers stranded from Bali to Frankfurt. A total of 1,239 flights were canceled early Monday morning, with Dubai-based Emirates, Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways, and Doha-based Qatar Airways collectively canceling hundreds of flights. Other airlines also canceled flights across the region.
Air India also canceled its flights on Sunday from Delhi, Mumbai, and Amritsar to major cities in Europe and North America.
