For the second day in a row, thousands of members of the Arab and Palestinian communities and Spanish political parties supporting the Palestinian cause demonstrated in the streets of the Spanish capital, Madrid, to denounce the war and the Israeli aggression against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
According to the Palestinian News Agency, the participants in the demonstration gathered in the central square of Sol in the center of the Spanish capital, Madrid, and in front of the headquarters of the local government, raising Palestinian flags and chanting slogans of freedom for Palestine.
The demonstrators called for a boycott of Israel. They also denounced the international silence over the crimes of the occupation.
The Palestinian health ministry said that the aggression against Palestinians killed at least 788 people, while as many as 4,100 caught injuries since Saturday last week.
The situation has been sparking frustration across the world, with the UN appealing for the end of a “vicious cycle of bloodshed, hatred and polarization.”
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said he is deeply alarmed by reports over the murdering of Palestinians, including women and children.
“Unfortunately, these numbers are rising by the minute as Israeli operations continue,” the UN Secretary-General said.
He said that while he recognizes “Israel’s legitimate security concerns, I also remind Israel that military operations must be conducted in strict accordance with international humanitarian law.”
