Amy Sedaris and Paul Dinello are developing a reimagining of Roger Corman’s 1959 sci-fi horror film “The Wasp Woman.”

Dinello is set to write and direct the remake with Sedaris starring in the title role.

The official logline for the film reads: “The new film will follow the original plot of ‘The Wasp Woman,’ focusing on Janice Starlin, the founder of a cosmetics company who attempts to reverse the aging process using experimental enzymes derived from queen wasps, with disastrous results.”

The project marks another collaboration between Sedaris and Dinello after working together on the 1999 cult comedy series “Strangers With Candy,” and the 2017 entertaining show satire “At Home with Amy Sedaris,”.

Sedaris is known for appearing in countless comedic projects, including “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," and “The Book of Boba Fett.”

She’s also appeared in films like “Elf” and the live-action “The Lion King,”.

Dinello has focused more on behind-the-camera work, serving as a writer and supervising producer on “The Colbert Report” as well as “The Late Show.”

Joseph Middleton, who served as head of casting at Paramount for a decade and worked with them on the “Strangers With Candy” movie, is set to assemble the cast.

Producers include Mark Roberts, who produced the “Strangers with Candy” film, Jordan Fields of Radial Entertainment, which owns the Roger Corman library via its Shout! Studios brand, Meyer Shwarzstein of Another Brainy Idea and Michael Richter of A Major Production.
