“The Settlement And The Palestinian State”, a new book by Major General Dr. Wael Rabei, the advisor at Nasser Higher Military Academy, reveals the details of the deal of the century and the crimes of the Israeli occupation in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The book was published by “Dar Al-Arabi” for publishing and distribution. The book deals with Israeli settlement policies and their implementation by successive Israeli governments, regardless of their orientations, during the period from 2000 to 2020.

The book reveals the vision of the Israeli occupation government, which reflects their orientations and their keenness to establish a reality on the ground with which it is difficult to talk about the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The book also talks about the essence of the US peace plan, known as the “Deal of the Century,” which clearly supports Palestinian settlement policies, legalizes the status quo of settlements, and completely ignores Palestinian demands and United Nations resolutions regarding the two-state solution.

It deals with statistics and maps, the current situation in the Palestinian territories (the West Bank and Jerusalem), and the extent of the impact of settlement policies on all aspects of life for the Palestinians in terms of political, economic, and social aspects.

In Rabei’s book, colonialism is divided into two types, settler colonialism, and exploitative colonialism, stressing that in the Palestinian case, colonialism is a third type, as it aims to erase the Palestinian identity and existence and impede the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He added that the Israeli settlement plans and policies, and the positions of political parties and movements in Israel from 2000 to 2020, aim to perpetuate a reality on the ground that makes it difficult for an independent Palestinian state to be established.

Moreover, successive Israeli governments enacted laws and ratified them by the Israeli Knesset to legalize the process of appropriating Palestinian lands and the forced displacement of Palestinians in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
