The Rock, Dwayne Johnson, announced the release date of his latest movie, Black Adam, as he took it to Instagram on Sunday to post a video of the movies taking over in New York’s Times Square.

The movie will premier on 29 July 2022. It was slated to release in late 2020, but the filming was delayed due to the pandemic.

Black Adam is going to focus on the superhero who was initially created as Shazam's archnemesis, as the film is an anti-hero of sorts. However, the story is being used to launch the cinematic version of Justice Society of America, a group that came before the Justice League.

The Rock has been teasing the film's details for ages and once he announced the release date, it boomed over a giant speaker in Times Square ranks pretty high.

Other than Johnson, 'Black Adam' includes Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate, one of JSA’s founding members, along with Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Marwan Kenzari playing a currently unknown role.

The audience is waiting for more sneak peeks of the film to come out.
