As part of its "It's Better to Avoid Others" awareness campaign, the Ministry of Health and Population warned of the increasing dangers of using electronic cigarettes (vaping). The Ministry emphasized that the harms are not limited to the health effects associated with smoking, but can extend to causing serious physical injuries and accidents that threaten users' safety.
In an official awareness publication, the Ministry explained that electronic cigarettes can cause burns and serious physical injuries due to sudden malfunctions or technical problems with the devices.
The Ministry attributed these incidents to two main reasons:
Manufacturing defects: Errors or manufacturing defects in the device's components or assembly method can render it unsafe to use.
The Ministry of Health and Population stressed the importance of exercising caution and avoiding the use of electronic cigarettes to protect public health and prevent accidents and sudden injuries.
