LOS ANGELES — World-renowned Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass has announced the global premiere of the new Hollywood documentary, "The Man in the Hat." The film, which chronicles Hawass’s illustrious scientific and professional career, will make its world debut in Los Angeles in the presence of the archaeologist himself, alongside director Jeffrey Roth and the production team.
Premiere Schedule and Venue
The documentary is set to screen on January 10 at the historic Lido Theatre in Newport Beach. Two exclusive screenings are scheduled:
Matinee: 2:00 PM
Evening: 7:00 PM
Each screening will be followed by a moderated Q&A session and a book/poster signing ceremony with Dr. Hawass, offering fans and scholars a rare opportunity to engage with the "Guardian of the Pyramids."
A "Career Milestone" for Director Jeffrey Roth
American director Jeffrey Roth, representing Playground Productions, revealed that the film was two years in the making. Roth emphasized that this event marks the film's first-ever public screening.
"Although I have directed numerous documentaries about former U.S. Presidents and Apollo program astronauts, I consider this project one of the largest and most significant productions in my company’s history," Roth stated.
The premiere is expected to be a high-profile cultural gathering, attended by Hollywood A-listers, the Egyptian Ambassador, prominent intellectuals, and leading international archaeologists.
"The Man in the Hat" adds to a prestigious list of documentaries documenting Hawass's life, following National Geographic’s King of the Pyramids and the Italian production Il Sogno dell'Egitto (The Egyptian) by Laboratoriorosso.
