Production wrapped on Disney's upcoming live-action remake of "The Little Mermaid".

Actress Halle Bailey, who stars as mermaid Ariel, Bailey took to Instagram on Monday to confirmed that the shooting has concluded as well as to express her gratitude for the cast, crew, and experience during the shoot.

Bailey also shared gorgeous sunset pictures of her lounging in costume in the ocean against the setting sun.

"And just like that..that’s a wrap. After auditioning for this film when I was 18 just about to turn 19, to now finishing filming through a pandemic when I turned 21 ..we have finally made it," she captioned the photo.

Bailey added: "This experience has made me so much stronger than I ever thought I could be. I cannot wait for time to speed up so you all can watch this film because it was made with so much love (plus blood sweat and tears) lol thank you Sardinia for a wonderful ending!!!".

The movie started shooting on the Italian island of Sardinia in the summer.

In March 2020, Disney was forced to halt production on some of its live-action movies, including “The Little Mermaid”, due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Rob Marshall, the director of the movie, announced that Bailey will play Ariel in July 2019. He stated that the actress possessed a rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence, substance, and a glorious singing voice, noting: “All intrinsic qualities necessary to play this iconic role”.

The movie will also feature Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, Awkwafina as Scuttle, Javier Bardem as King Triton, and Daveed Diggs as Sebastian.

"The Little Mermaid" is directed by Rob Marshall and produced by Miranda and Marshall alongside Marc Platt and Jon DeLuca.

It will also feature many of Alan Menken and Howard Ashman’s classic songs from the original 1989 movie, alongside new music from Menken and Moana composer Lin-Manuel Miranda.

"The Little Mermaid" joins a host of other live-action adaptations from Disney, making it the fifth movie in the official Disney Princess lineup to be adapted, after "Cinderella", "Beauty and the Beast", "Aladdin", and "Mulan".
