The Israeli army announced, in a brief statement, on Saturday, that 6 of its soldiers were killed during the ongoing military operations in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army explained that it informed the families of the befallen soldiers that their sons were killed during the ground battles that the army was waging in the Gaza Strip, noting that 3 of the dead were officers.
The army statement also indicated that a number of other serious injuries had occurred among soldiers, according to the Arab World News Agency.
The army announced that the number of deaths among its ranks had risen to 372 since the seventh of last October, including those killed inside Israeli cities and towns in the surprise attack carried out by the Hamas movement.
The Times of Israel newspaper reported on Saturday that the number of Israeli army deaths since the start of the ground operation in the Gaza Strip had risen to 57.
Earlier today, Abu Ubaida, the official spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, announced that his fighters killed and wounded a number of Israeli soldiers by targeting them with an anti-personnel device, after setting them up in an ambush.
