The Israeli newspaper "Israel Hayom" reported today that an officer with the rank of lieutenant and conscripts with the rank of sergeant were killed during the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli newspaper confirmed that the lieutenant is Shai Eli (21 years old) from Ashkelon, serving in the Special Tactical Rescue Unit (669), and he was killed north of Gaza, while Sergeant Tal Shuaa (31 years old) from Beersheba, a conscript in Engineering Unit 7071, was killed south of Gaza.
In a related context, fighters of the Golani Brigade in the Israeli army withdrew yesterday, Thursday, from the Gaza Strip “to take a rest after suffering heavy losses,” according to Israeli media reports.
Reports from the Walla news website and the Israeli Channel 12 reported that the Golani Brigade spent more than 70 days in Gaza, losing 44 fighters, and the fighters decided to leave the Strip for a few days to rest and visit their families.
