It is noteworthy that the Israeli Channel 12 had announced that the Israeli government, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, had agreed to hold negotiations between the head of the Mossad, David Barnea, with Qatar and Egypt to release more Israeli hostages held in the Gaza Strip.

The channel quoted Israeli sources as saying that Barnea presented to the Israeli political leadership the outlines of a possible deal to release more Israeli hostages held in Gaza, and obtained the green light to discuss its details with mediators from Egypt and Qatar, taking into account Israeli requests.
