The Grand Egyptian Museum is considered the most important cultural project in the 21st century.

It is a huge educational institution worldwide, and will fascinate the whole world upon its opening which was scheduled for next October, and was postponed until next year due to the current circumstances.

This project is now being pursued by the whole world.

The whole world is waiting for the Grand Egyptian Museum`s opening, and undoubtedly the opening will be legendary for ten days.

The story of the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum dates back to 2002, thanks to its creation by the artist Farouk Hosni.

An architectural competition was held in which more than a thousand architects from all countries of the world participated. The competition was conducted under the supervision of UNESCO and the International Union of Architects, after which a committee was formed to choose the best project.

A project designed by a Chinese engineer living in Ireland was chosen, and after that, the project was announced to various companies, and the executing company was chosen.

A Japanese loan was obtained at that time that amounted to $ 300 million and increased after that to $ 700 million.

During king Tut's exhibition around the world in 2005, Egypt obtained $ 120 million used in building antique stores and restoration laboratories to become the largest restoration institutes in the whole world. The project started, as we were supposed to open it in 2011 had it not been for the unfortunate January events.

After that, no step was taken during the difficult periods, but President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi managed to turn this dream into reality. He chose major general Atef Moftah who has a high-level in engineering to oversee the project. Moftah was able to complete many construction projects in a short period of time. The equivalent of $ 1billionhas been spent so far.

I have visited this museum and during the past months, I saw the great restoration works carried out by the Egyptian restorers, who have proven that they are highly qualified professionals who were trained abroad.
