Congratulations to Egypt… congratulations to the national team.. congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who was keen to receive the players and the technical staff, in a scene that brought joy to all Egyptians.
This honoring was not only for the national team, but rather a tribute to a working team that dilated its efforts, believed in itself, and played with love and patriotism, under the leadership of Captain Hossam Hassan, who restored the team’s personality and spirit, and made the fans regain their confidence in the team.
I felt that Egypt was celebrating. The reception was wonderful, and the President's words were a message of appreciation to every player who exerted an effort, and to every individual in the technical and administrative staff. The most beautiful thing is that this appreciation came from the head of state, to confirm that what the national team presented was not just a participation in a tournament, but a magnificent image of Egypt before the world.
During the tournament, the talk was not only within Egypt; rather, the world followed the Egyptian national team with respect. Everyone praised the performance and the fighting spirit. Even in the match that sparked a lot of controversy due to refereeing, the whole world was praising the national team’s performance, noting that what happened was a great injustice, as the players were up to the responsibility.
The responsibility now has become greater. We have a national team that includes world-class players, who proved that they are capable of competing with the biggest teams and bringing joy to the Egyptian people. Therefore, preparation must begin from now for the 2030 World Cup, and we must preserve this generation, and benefit from every lesson we came out with from this tournament.
What we see in sports is not far from what we see in other fields.
Egypt has become strongly present in international institutions, and its citizens are assuming leadership positions that reflect the state's status and the efficiency of Egyptians. Dr. Khaled El-Anany was elected Director-General of UNESCO, in an unprecedented historic achievement for Egypt and the Arab world. Also, Dr. Ghada Waly assumed the leadership of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and she was also the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna during her tenure. Dr. Yasmine Fouad, the former Minister of Environment, was chosen as Executive Secretary of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification with the rank of Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, which is one of the most important international positions in the field of environment and sustainable development.
During the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, we saw Egypt restoring its status, and its name has become strongly present in international institutions, we also saw great achievements in sports, economy, infrastructure, and foreign policy.
Congratulations to Egypt… and congratulations to the people of Egypt who deserve to rejoice. congratulations to every young Egyptian citizen who proved that the Pharaohs are still capable of competing, succeeding, and raising their country's name high everywhere.
