Egyptian Children Partake at Moscow-based Initiative “Ahlan Russia”

The activities of the Moscow-based initiative kicked off with the participation of Russian Expatriates aged between 14 and 19 years old. In addition, several Egyptian children took part in the initiative after they received invitations from the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo)

On his side, the Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt Aleksey Tevanyan asserted that the selected children previously participated and won, at several activities at the Russian Cultural Centers, the competitions dedicated to the Olympic Games, Russian language, or Russian history and culture.

On her side, the head of the Coordinating Council for Russian Expatriates in Egypt Ludmila Salama that the selected Egypt-based Russian participants have impressive talents and are able to represent Egypt in such an international festival.

They arrived in Moscow on August 9 to start to take part in the program that included several tours to Moscow’s famous destination, museums, and cultural spots, alongside visiting the places that saw legendary Alexander Pushkin’s childhood and creativity.

Furthermore, the program organised a meeting with the Russian Institute for Nuclear Research’s students, a visit to the Russian State Library, the technology park for children, some historical destinations such as The Victory Museum, and tombs of unknown soldiers to placing some flowers.

In addition, another round of activities will be organized such as meetings with sports, theater starts, and artists, and establishing performing, and acting workshops.

It is worthy to mention that Sabina Tshagina instructed a lecture under the theme of “History and Street Arts.”

In the same context, Tevanyan highlighted that this generation of Egyptian and Russian children that carry the same culture symbolized an influential bridge between both countries due to their participation at the festival to back their mother culture, and Russian heritage.
