Thailand’s exports under free trade agreements (FTAs) surged past US$53 bn in the first seven months of 2025, up 11.57% year-on-year, according to the Department of Foreign Trade, as cited by TV BRICS.

FTA-based exports now account for more than 81% of Thailand’s total shipments, highlighting the growing importance of regional trade pacts in boosting the country’s export performance.

The ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA) led the way, with exports to Southeast Asian partners exceeding US$18 bn during the period. Other major FTA markets included China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand.

Among Thailand’s leading export products were fresh durian, vehicles, synthetic rubber, unrefined platinum, and sugar. The country also recorded strong sales of fresh fruit, processed chicken, tapioca chips, air conditioners, and machinery under existing trade deals.

Trade officials said the figures reflect Thailand’s expanding trade network and efforts to diversify export destinations amid a challenging global environment. They added that sustaining growth will depend on maintaining competitiveness and leveraging new opportunities from ongoing regional trade liberalisation.
