Authorities in Thailand announced a short while ago that the death toll from the clashes that took place on the border with Cambodia has risen to 9 dead, according to what Al Qahera News Channel reported a short while ago.
Thailand's Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketko had previously accused Cambodia of violating the ceasefire agreement recently signed between the two sides, and said that if the United States continues to intervene to stop the escalation, Thailand needs its help in seeking a real peace and not just an agreement on paper.
The Thai Foreign Minister added, in a special statement to the BBC, in its broadcast on Tuesday, that if Cambodia is willing to change its actions, then the best ways to move forward towards peace can be considered, noting that the ball is now in Phnom Penh's court, where it must act and take responsibility.
