Egyptian fashion designer Farida Temraza presented her latest collections this summer with fabrics drawn from the children of autism and presented very positive designs.
What is the story of these inspiring designs?
The Egyptian Autism Society invited Farida, who is interested in community service, to attend a draw on canvas workshop for autistic children, held at Art Café, in Maadi.
The workshop goal was to raise awareness about autism and the different teaching methods for children with autism and simultaneously provide activities for children with autism.
Temraza attended the workshop, which was a very inspiring experience with these children, especially after she saw the children drawings, which displayed energy, joy and a sweet spirit as soon as she saw them. Her creative imagination urges her to present a collection inspired by the spirit of these innocent drawings.
The fashion designer was happy with the children's drawings and decided to present them into the light and for it to be worn by women, as well as to give the autistic children a great help and a financial return also after deciding to dedicate the collections revenues for the benefit of the Egyptian Autism Society.
*The colors of life
The children used bright colors such as yellow, orange, green and blue and painted life as they see it with their little eyes and big laugh; they drew the sun and moon, trees and palm trees, euro and dice, the car and the plane, and the handprints of their small hands that gave the drawings aesthetics.
* Creative design
Temraza took the unique drawings with all her positive energy, printed it on a white and off-white soft chiffon fabric, and added small motifs; thus she had a canvas characterized by wonderful childhood drawings that brings her unique style.
Then she designed a very special collection consisting of nine designs suitable to wear with jeans or trousers linen white or swimsuit cover-ups.
The designs, streamlined with fresh, joyful ideas, displayed the spirit of cloth painted by the children of autism with all their innocence, beauty and creativity.
