Regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran's readiness to assistance individuals affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, Amir-Abdollahian stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has already taken a number of actions to support those who have incurred losses as a result of the tremors.
The measures, he said, include sending rescue teams to Turkey and Syria and declaring that Iranian hospitals are prepared to provide medical care for the injured. The senior Iranian diplomat emphasised the necessity for international organisations to pay attention to the unique situation in the country and termed the humanitarian situation in Syria as challenging.
He claimed that as a result of the anti-Syria sanctions, the position of the Syrian people has gotten worse since the earthquake.
The humanitarian situation in Syria's Idlib region is dire, according to Amir-Abdollahian, and a significant number of people have died and suffered losses there.
He emphasised that Tehran is prepared to deploy relief teams and humanitarian aid right away to Idlib, saying it is anticipated that the ICRC would coordinate with the Iranian Red Crescent Society in order to convey and distribute the help in Idlib, which is under the control of the rebel group Hamas.
For her part, ICRC President Mirjana Spoljaric Egger commended Iran for its humanitarian efforts and actions in the earthquake zone. She stated that the ICRC would act quickly in Syria and that it would coordinate with Iran over its worthwhile suggestions and methods of carrying them out after assessing the situation.
