The next re-recorded album from Taylor Swift’s catalogue has been revealed.
Swift told the Los Angeles crowd on the final night of the 2023 U.S. leg of The Eras Tour that 1989 (Taylor’s Version) will release on October 27.
The pop star announced Wednesday the news during the sixth night of her Eras Tour shows at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
She broke out the news at the top of the acoustic section toward the end of the concert while also pointing to the string of blue outfits she had worn during the show, including the one she had on for the announcement.
The rerecorded album follows the release of "Fearless (Taylor’s Version)", "Red (Taylor’s Version)", and "Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)".
The 2014 album, which originally featured 13 songs on the standard version and 16 songs on the deluxe edition, was home to her hit singles “Shake It Off”, “Blank Space”, “Style”, and “Wildest Dreams”.
The rerecorded version will feature 21 songs, including 5 previously unreleased songs from The Vault.
“Surprise!! 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is on its way to you,” Swift wrote on social media as she also revealed the album cover.
“The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th. To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long!”.

The singer-songwriter confirmed in 2019 that she would remake all her albums up to 2017’s “Reputation” after Scooter Braun acquired the label under which the singer recorded her early albums and sold the master rights to her first six albums for $300 million in November 2020.
The new albums have been strong sellers, as fans follow her wishes to buy and stream only the versions where she owns the recordings outright, after her public distress at her Big Machine catalog having been sold against her wishes.
The “TV” editions have also included copious bonus tracks of songs Swift wrote but never released during those eras. Previous releases were “Fearless” and “Red.” That leaves new editions of “1989,” “Reputation” and her self-titled debut still to come in the series.
