American singer-songwriter, Taylor Swift dropped Thursday her new single "Lover", the title track of her forthcoming album.
The new song marks the fourth single from Lover, following “ME!,” “You Need to Calm Down,” and “The Archer.”
Lover, out August 23, will be Taylor’s seventh studio album and her first for new label Republic.
She will “exclusively perform stripped-down versions of songs” on SiriusXM Hits 1 on release day at 5 pm ET. She will then participate in a Q&A with select subscribers.
It was recently announced that the singer will perform during this year’s MTV Video Music Awards on August 26, which will be her first televised performance following the release of the new album.

‘Lover’
Swift took to Instagram in June to update fans and eager followers about the Lover album news.
She elaborated on what to expect from it: “This album, in tone, it’s very romantic,” she said.
“Not just simply thematically, like it’s all love songs or something. The idea of something being romantic…it doesn’t have to be a happy song. You can find romance in loneliness or sadness or going through things in your life… it just looks at those things through a romantic gaze.”
‘Time's 100 Most Influential People List’
TIME magazine has released its annual list of the 100 Most Influential People for 2019, on April 17.
The 29-year-old pop star was named one of TIME's most influential people along with the likes of Michelle Obama, BTS, Emilia Clarke, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga and Chrissy Teigen.
She also scored one of six covers for this year's magazine, the others of which went to soccer star Mohamed Salah, Dwayne Johnson, Sandra Oh, Gayle King, and politician Nancy Pelosi.
After a period of dormancy, the pop star has been active on social media and in public this spring and early summer, appearing on magazine covers, performing at the TIME 100 Gala to celebrate with her fellow honorees.
‘Ending Feud with Katy Perry’
Beyond her music, she also appeared to bury the hatchet with fellow pop star Katy Perry.
The two were rumored to be involved in a long-standing feud involving a backup dancer, but Katy shared on social media a photo of a batch of cookies with frosting spelling out “peace at last” — and tagged Swift in the caption.
Perry had also made a cameo and shared a hug with the singer in her star-studded music video, "You Need to Calm Down", which was released on June 14.
