Tawadros Receives Madbouli, Zaki in Papal HQ

Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese received on Sunday Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly and Minister of Defense Mohamed Zaki at the papal headquarters in Cairo.

The Premier was accompanied by Nabila Makram, Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, Omar Marwan, Minister of Justice, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education, in addition to Alaa El Din Abul Hassan, Minister for Parliamentary Councils, who offered congratulations to his holiness on Christmas.

During the meeting, Madbouly expressed his sincere congratulations to His Holiness Pope Tawadros and to all Copts on Christmas, wishing peace and security for all Egyptian citizens on this occasion.

On his part, Tawadros welcomed the Prime Minister and members of the cabinet  and thanked them for their visit, noting that the meeting develops feelings of love among the people of the Egypt, hoping that the fruits of the success of our beloved country will bear fruit.

Tawadros II also welcomed Lieutenant General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production along with a high-ranking delegation from  the Ministry at the St. Mark's Cathedral in Abbasiya to congratulate his Holiness on Christmas.

Zaki greeted the Pope on this holy occasion, and wished him well, goodness and blessings, expressing his sincere happiness at this meeting.

The Minister of Defense emphasized that this holiday is a feast for all Egyptians, including Muslims and Copts, who unite under one national fabric.

His Holiness expressed his pride in the Ministry of Defense and all men of the armed forces for the great effort exerted in protecting the country against external interference and their efforts in building the country, through participation in civil works, stressing that the armed forces will remain the strong shield to protect the homeland.

Meantime, the St. Mark's Cathedral is being decorated with colorful bright lights, Christmas trees and decorations in preparation for the celebrations of Christmas, and the new calendar year, 2020.
