Taliban Affirms New Government Won’t Comprise Women

The Taliban, an Afghani Islamist militant movement, affirmed that the upcoming government in the country won’t comprise women.

Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the movement, said over an interview with “ La Repubblica” an Italian daily newspaper, said that the new cabinet will be a national unity government but women won’t get any portfolio in it.

Mujahid pointed out that women will retain their rights to fill posts in various ministries, and police, judiciary institutions, adding that women also can work as nurses, in addition, to go to universities.

Mujahid affirmed that the Taliban asked the forces of resistance in Panjshir State in the northern part of the country to put down arms to allow troops loyal to the government to enter into the province, threatening to conquer the region if the northern alliance refuses to surrender to the government.

He pointed out that the priority of the Taliban concentrates on the importance of exerting more efforts to avoid an economic crisis in Afghanistan during the next period to comes, affirming that China will be the main partner with Afghanistan.

He made clear that China grants Afghanistan exceptional opportunities as it is ready to invest heavily in the country, especially in mining mineral resources and participating in reconstruction operations. He pointed out that cooperation with China gets his movement a pass to all markets to all markets all over the world.

The spokesman of the Afghani movement revealed that Afghanistan's interests in the Chinese initiative of one belt, one road, depicting relations of the Taliban with Russia as very good in fields of politics and economy.

It is worth noting the Taliban seized Kabul, the capital city of Afghanistan on August 15. Former President Ashraf Ghani fled the country to exile in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
