Taiwan's Defense Minister Chiu Kucheng said on Monday that the island should be on alert this year in anticipation of any "sudden entry" of the Chinese army into areas close to its territory amid heightened military tensions across the sensitive Taiwan Strait.
Taiwan's Defense Minister said, the People's Liberation Army may find excuses to enter areas close to Taiwan's territorial.
China claims self-governed Taiwan as its own and has not renounced the use of force to bring the island under Chinese control, if needed. Taiwan strongly rejects China's sovereignty claims and says only its people can decide their future.
