Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El Din, the Presidential Advisors for Health and Prevention Affairs, said on Tuesday that Coronavirus still exists, and the virus' classification as a pandemic continued, asserting that Egypt saw new surge in Coronavirus infections recently.
Describing it as a new wave, Tag El Din highlighted that the new surge in infections is not fierce, and it is expected in the terms of any virus.
He expressed in a phone interview with TV presenter Lobna Assal that the symptoms of the virus are the recognized ones such as body aches, fever, sneezing, coughing, and breathing difficulties.
Regarding the end of the wave, the presidential advisor that the end of the wave will be identified when the numbers of cases went to regular numbers before falling down.
The advisor previously revealed that Egypt started a new wave of Corona, stressing that Egypt has entered the sixth wave, and everyone must recommit to all precautionary measures again.
Tag El Din added that people must adhere to preventive measurements for a month or more, despite a significant decrease in infections.
He revealed that a week or 10 days ago there was an increase in cases, and every day we monitor a larger number than the last day, so it may be a sixth wave of the disease.
The expert continued, given that 500,000 to 600,000 people enter Egypt per week, this means that we are in the sixth wave of Corona, noting that the cases of infection are from simple to moderate.
