Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, the Presidential Advisor for Health Affairs and Prevention, said, Wednesday, that the new variant EG.5.2 is easy to transmit but it is weak as the normal flu symptoms like fever, body chills, sore throat, Nasal congestion or runny nose, and fatigue.
Tag El Din added that the new variant doesn't make any kind of threatening transmission and it wouldn't spark any kind of pandemic.
He highlighted that this variant didn't cause any severe infections or deaths.
The official asserted that authorities monitor the variant and its impacts.
