The Presidential Advisor for Health and Protection Affairs Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El Din said on Tuesday that the latest recorded COVID-19 infections are few, in addition, the situation of the virus is completely under control in Egypt.

Tag El Din added that all current cases are mild, and suffer from flu-like symptoms.

He continued that the pandemic is still active worldwide, however, people adapted to the virus through vaccines. 

The expert also expressed that there is a possibility of new waves of Coronavirus, therefore, people should continue receiving vaccines. 

Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population urged people to receive COVID-19 vaccine and booster shots, adding that the vaccine is available for all Egyptians, and foreigners, free of charge.

It added that Coronavirus vaccines are safe and effective.

Earlier, the ministry asserted that the Coronavirus vaccine is safe for pregnant and lactating women, stressing that vaccines are available in all centers for free.

The ministry also urged citizens to get the COVID-19 vaccine, which contributes to protecting family members from severe infection.

Moreover, it stressed that the Egyptian state spares no effort in providing free COVID-19 vaccines to all citizens, as part of the ministry’s keenness on the public health and the state’s gains in addressing the pandemic.
