Egypt Yet to Reach Climax of COVID's 4th Wave: President's Advisor

Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, President’s Advisor for Health and Prevention Affairs, said that the fourth wave of COVID-19 in Egypt still doesn't reach its climax until now, explaining that the number of daily infections of COVID-19 is not stable yet.

He added that there are 72 million COVID-19 vaccine doses, asserting that the authorities target vaccinating all students aged 15 and 16 years old.

The Presidential Advisor expressed that there are more studies conducted for making sure of the vaccine's safety for students aged 15 years old.

Tag El Din's statements came during a phone interview with the "Salet Al Tahrir" program that aired on Sada El Balad channel.

It is worthy to mention that Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 946 new Coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 344,907, on Monday.

The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 19,567 nationwide after the ministry announced 68 deaths.

About 432 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 288114.

It is worth mentioning that, Egypt has vaccinated about 40 million citizens against COVID-19 so far, Health Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar revealed on Sunday.
