Hadiya Khalaf Abbas, Speaker of the People's Assembly of Syria died of a heart attack in the military hospital in Deir Ezzor.
Abbas was born in 1958 in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, and she obtained a doctorate in agricultural engineering from Aleppo University.
Abbas is the first woman in the People's Assembly in Syria, where she held this position from June 6, 2016 to July 20, 2017.
